With heavy hearts and endless love, we share the passing of Patty Smith, who left this world on July 18, 2025. Born on August 10, 1960, in Philadelphia, PA, Patty was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew Porter and Josephine DiFulgo. She brought laughter, warmth, and light wherever she went, from the City of Brotherly Love to her longtime home in Georgia.
Patty embraced life with warmth, laughter, and a genuine love for simple things. Her family was the most important thing to her and she never took family gatherings for granted. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether through cookouts, a good laugh, or moments that made everyone feel like family. She enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends, dancing, and cookouts with her family. Her energy was infectious, her presence unforgettable, and her love for her family was at the heart of everything she did.
Patty was the heart and soul of her family and she is survived by her devoted husband, David Smith; her two cherished children, Josh Johnson (Crystal Johnson), and Amanda Dowling (Timothy Dowling). Patty shared her two children with her former husband, Johnny Johnson, with whom she remained connected through their shared love for Josh and Amanda. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren: Ty, Kayla, Devin, Nathan, Sylvester, Ryan, Kylo, Blair, and Salem, who brought endless joy to her life. Patty is also survived by her beloved sister Joann, her brother Andrew, and her dear lifelong best friend Deborah Pizzo. She also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends who loved her deeply and will forever miss her gentle spirit and generous heart.
Josh, Amanda and family,
Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Patty was a wonderful person who contributed greatly to the success of our company for nearly 30 years. Her dedication to her job and co-workers was only exceeded by her devotion to her family. “Patty Payroll” was one of a kind!
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve her passing while celebrating her life. She will be forever in our hearts. May god bless her soul and may she rest in eternal peace.
With all our love!

Thank you Steve, I truly appreciate it. You know, like many, my mom was one of a kind. “Patty Payroll” and “Patty Porter from Porter Street” was how the Renaissance family knew her. She will be missed dearly. Thank you for your kind words.
Love,
Amanda Dowling
Thank you Amy!

Her family is in my prayers, I know she loved her family very much. She will live on through them.
