On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, loving husband, father, and grandfather, retired – United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert (Bob) Ronald Harms passed at the age of 81.
LTC (R) Harms was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa and proceeded in death by his parents Harold Harms, Anne Niemeyer Harms, and brother Terrance Lee Harms. He is survived by his wife, Maria, two daughters, Kimbal Harms Campbell (Tom) and Sheryl Anne Harms. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Ariel Shockley Campbell, and Alexa Shockley Campbell.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. LTC (R) Harms served honorably for 30 years in the United States Army in military Intelligence and the Signal Corp; serving in Vietnam and two tours of duty in Germany. During his distinguished military career, he received several medals to include the Bronze Star.
The family will celebrate LTC Harms life at his home in Lawrenceville, Georgia on Sunday, October 31, 2021. His final resting place will be in Wellsburg, Iowa. In Lieu of Flowers memorials/tributes may be sent in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association at act. Alzheimer’s.org
