Wilma Gross Rogers was born on November 21, 1930, in Denham Springs, LA to Will and Samella Gross. Wilma departed life and received her wings on April 30, 2025, at the age of 94.
Wilma met and married the love of her life Elmo Rogers in 1949. They were blessed with 10 beautiful children. Being a mother was the most important part of her life and she enjoyed spending every possible moment with her children and grandchildren. Some of her favorite family memories include long summer drives to Louisiana, trips to the mountains and later traveling with Elmo to see the different States. Wilma was a member of Roberts United Methodist Church until moving to Los Angeles, California in 1957. She was employed by Mattel Toy Co. for 5 years. She returned to Louisiana and then moved to Lawrenceville, GA and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved her family. Her smile, kindness, her beautiful spirit and quick wit touched all who met her.
Wilma leaves to cherish her memory: her children Roland Rogers (Marcia), Kurt Rogers, Andre Rogers (Pamila), Anthony Rogers, Marcus Rogers, Cynthia Overstreet (James), Yvette Washington (Kenneth), Glenda Person (Anthony), Chandra Rogers, 14 grandchildren one sister Mary Boyd and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Elmo Rogers, eldest son Dwight Rogers, her parents Will and Samella Gross, six brothers, Frank Gross, Joe Gross, Sampson Gross, Charles Gross, Johnny Gross, Willie Gross Jr., three sisters, Muriel Thomas, Dorothy Jordan and Margret Simpson.
