Dorothy Marie Cates Doyle of Lilburn, Ga., passed away after enduring Alzheimer complications on April 18, 2016. Born in Lawrenceville, Ga., on September 2, 1932 to parents Charles Cleveland Cates and Ruby Lee Neal Cates. Her birth was on her Mother’s birthday. Marie is survived by her son Phil Lindsey and his wife Rozanne of Lilburn. Her daughter Victoria Lindsey resides in Hall County, Ga. She has two grandsons, Sean Lindsey and his wife Kelly and their children, her great grandsons, Seth and Samuel Lindsey. Paul Lindsey is her second grandson and his son, her great grandson, Devin Lindsey. The grandsons mother, Patricia Sheppard Lindsey was dear to her. Her surviving brothers are Robert Cates of Grayson, Ga., and Fred Cates and his wife Kristi of Hoschton, Ga. The surviving sisters are Jeanette Odum and her husband Bruce of Loganville, Ga., and Virginia Nidiffer and her husband Roger of Locust Grove, Ga. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was a devoted wife to James Francis Doyle, deceased in 2006. Prior to her Lilburn residence, she was a long time residence of Morningside and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atlanta. She enjoyed her pet dogs and cats, canvas oil painting, cooking, family celebrations and travelling. Her favorite places were Dublin Ireland, London England and the Vatican. She had careers with Ivan Allen Company and Holiday Inns in Atlanta. She is a member of St. Stephens the Martyr Catholic Church in Lilburn and was past President of Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 22 at 10:30am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Rd., Lilburn, Ga., 30047. Family and friends will receive visitors at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Ga.,30086 on Thursday, April 21 from 6pm-8pm. Burial will be held Friday, April 22 at College Park Cemetery 3600 Adams St., College Park. Ga., at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice at 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth Ga., 30096 or in her memory to St. Stephens the Martyr Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the death of Marie. I am so glad that I knew Marie. She was a true Southern lady. She was always so pleasant and a wonderful hostess, a loving mother and grandmother. She will certainly be missed by many.
