Vickie Lynn Jackson, age 62, of Winder, GA passed away on Saturday, January 18th, 2020. She was born in Louisville, KY to the late James and Christine Jackson.

Vickie had a passion for gardening and finding seashells at the beach. She loved life and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Jackson and nephew, Dustin Jackson.

She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Doug) Wright, Leah (Matt) Hyde, and son Daniel Nelson; grandchildren Jackson Wright, Riley and Ava Wilcher, Liam Nelson, Cohen and Jase Hyde; nieces Nickie (Susie) Smith, Christina Aderhold, Margie (Jamey) Ervin; brothers Dennis (Tish) Jackson, Tony (Mike) Jackson, and sister Carol (Gary) Powell.

Celebration of life to be announced at a later time.

  7. CandleImageI am so very sad to hear of your passing my dear friend. Nothing about this seems fair but I know it is God’s will. I love you with every fiber of me. You hold such great memories inside my mind of growing up with your entire family. All the times we cut up at Window Wear because our whole family worked there and what were they gonna do, fire is all??!! All the times spent in Granny’s bathroom getting ready only to be disappointed because we we were both horrible at picking boyfriends! And all the times Granny would give us grief for coming in late and eating all the pork chops. You were so excited and the only one who did not give me grief for getting pregnant with Justin. You just held my hand, smiled and said “I can’t wait to hold him!” And hold him you did. I will love and miss you forever and will cherish every single memory I have until I get to hug you again in Heaven. Rest well sweet lady. And I don’t mind if you still watch over me from time to time, I kind of miss that. Pinky Promise.

  8. I have known Vickie since we were 5, we went through some stuff and fun times during our teenage years. She introduced me to my hubby Mike Steele, we were 14 at that time. Vickie and mine lives changed and we were not in touch for many years, but I have been in touch with her 2 beautiful precious daughters Sherry & Leah. As with life we all go through “stuff” but by the grace of God HE draws us near to HIM and helps us to walk each and every day of this crazy hard life we live. My heart breaks for the suffering, loss and pain that her family is going through. Cling to Jesus and if you know HIM you will see her again one day. Love and prayers from our family to yours!!!

  9. CandleImageI am heartbroken. Yes, Vickie I am crying. Daniel, Leah, Sherry your Mom was such a ray of sunshine, She brightened every room she entered with her huge smile and infectious laughter. I will miss her greatly.

  10. CandleImageThere are no words to describe how sad I am for those of us left to mourn and miss her. It just does not seem right for Vickie to be gone so soon but I know that God is in charge. I feel like I’ve lost a little sister, until we meet again. Love and hugs to her children, grandchildren & siblings. I feel your loss.

  11. CandleImageI can’t believe you are no longer with us Vickie. I’m so glad we got to visit at your apartment a few years ago. I’ve known Vickie since she moved in Battle Forest. I was 9 and she was 5. Me and my sister and the Jackson clan played together and hung out for years. Alot of great childhood memories were made during those years. We would all lay down on the driveway and look at the clouds and take turns telling what figures we saw in them. Now I can look at them and know you are looking back at me. You always had the best hair too!! Rest in peace little sister . My condolences to the family. I see Vickie in all of your faces.

  14. CandleImageI meet this beautiful woman at my Dad funeral .I didn’t know anything until I was looking at some of my family’s profiles on Facebook. I looked her up and could not believe what I saw. My heart is broken. I can’t hold back the tears.I loved talking to her on messenger. I want want a big hug when I get to heaven. Love you Vickie
