Charles V.K. Ohrenschall was born on November 9, 1939 to Robert and Dorothy Ohrenschall in Baltimore, Maryland, but he grew up in Sacremento, California. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy as an enlisted man and studied Avionics. Seeing his intelligence the Navy sent him to prep school and then to the University of Missouri through the ROTC program. After that it was pilot training. Upon completion he was assigned to an East Coast squadron involving Mediterranean Cruises. After that he was assigned to a West Coast squadron that involved him in flying over North Vietnam. The friendly skies of the United Airlines was his home for the next 10 years. During that time he became a Christian and heard the Lord calling him to Missionary Aviation. He flew a single engine Cessna over the vast plains of Southern Sudan with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Then as Chuck put it “he flew a desk in Togo West Africa” where he served as vice president of the branch. There he could speak French, which he had learned fluently in France.
Then it was back to the states to serve in the Regional Office in Stone Mountain. Here he was head of the Member Care Department. It was during this time he became interested in Psychology and got a Masters Degree from Liberty University. Then he created Teleios Counseling Ministry in 1992 until May of 2020.
During this time he pursued courses in writing and he has authored over 5 books. He also, over the course of 10 years had a ministry to Russia. Where he taught Russian Christians counseling principles. One book is now being published in Russian.
Charles had a massive stroke on May 25th and was hospitalized. After a up and down recovery he aspirated on stomach acid and contracted double pneumonia. He died peacefully on August 16, 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia and son Erich, wife Jennifer and grandson Everett. He is also survived by his son Christopher and his girlfriend Sarah.

Deepest sympathies to the family. Chuck was my brother in Christ, friend, and amazing counselor. With sadness I say good-bye, but only for now. For the Ohrenschall family I pray the Lord’s comfort rest upon you and encourage you.
Chuck’s passing will leave a huge hole in all our lives. I was just reading an email he sent me in early May, where he asked, “We wonder if our lives will ever be the same? I think not.” That is true for everyone who is part of Chuck’s life. His writing, his love of square dancing, his patience and his faith made him indispensable wherever he involved himself. My love and condolences to Patsy and their sons. We will miss him beyond words.
Deepest Sympathy to the Family. The Atlanta Square Dance Community now has a huge void with the Loss of Chuck.
We are so sorry to learn of the passing of Chuck. We always enjoyed dancing with y’all at the Silver Stars. God bless you and comfort you. It’s a great comfort to know that he is with his Lord and Savior.

I enjoyed square and round dancing with Chuck and Patsy. Chuck always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. Rest in peace, Chuck. We will cherish our memories of you.

Chuck was a very dear friend and we will miss him dearly. We wanted very much to attend his Memorial Service but we are avoiding crowds. Patsy and family, you are in our prayers.
Our Heavenly Father blessed those who knew Chuck with a Brother, a Friend, and Model of knowing, loving and sharing our Lord Jesus.
I knew Chuck thru our 2 year training in CLC with Len Sykes starting in 1990. What a wonderful, learned, joyous man of God was he!

Dear Patsy,
I so looked forward to seeing you and Charles passing out the bulletins at Trinity – always smiling, always welcoming! What a pleasure it has been getting to know both of you and I’m so grateful for it.
In reading his obituary, I see many things I did not know about Charles – which means you experienced all of these things too. It makes me admire both of you all the more. I will miss seeing you when the church opens back up as I have now moved to Texas, but will be praying for your peace and God’s blessing.

We danced with them at Peachtree briefly when they were strong in the club and we were phasing out of dancing because of age.

Oh my. I just read Chuck’s name in a documentary diary by an A-4E pilot attached to VA-212 googled Chuck’s name. Chuck and I went to the University of Missouri together. The last time I saw Chuck was when he flew a solo cross country from NAS Kingsville to NAAS Meridian in 1964. I didn’t know that he also became a scooter driver. I am sorry for your loss. Despite the fact that we lost contact shortly after we graduated, I always considered Chuck a good friend.
