Jack Sumpter, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home in Lilburn, GA.  He was born on October 9, 1927 in Roanoke, VA.  Jack and his family settled in Lilburn, GA around 1970.  He worked as company comptroller/accountant for various companies through his working career, retiring in 1993.  A faithful servant of our Lord, Jack was a charter member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Lilburn, GA.  Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 wonderful years, Peggy Sumpter; daughter, Jackie Sumpter of Brasstown, NC; son, Joe Sumpter of Atlanta, GA; daughter Rebecca Cooper and husband Jim of Charlotte, NC and son, Andy Sumpter and wife, Tricia of Duluth, GA.  Jack will be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Mitchell, Matthew and Graham Cooper and Tristan, Trinity and Colton Sumpter.  Jack is also survived by his sister Fay Peek and husband, John and their children of Plano, TX.  A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 1400 Killian Hill Road, Lilburn, GA on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in memory of Jack’s life to the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choosing.  Online condolences can be expressed at
