Ricardo’s life revolved around his beloved wife, María (Conchita), who suffered from Dementia in her later years. He was a pillar of strength and support for her, tirelessly caring for her with boundless love and tenderness. Ricardo’s devotion to his wife was a testament to the depth of his character and the strength of his commitment to those he cherished.

Ricardo leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. He played an active role in their lives, always putting their needs above his own. As a father, Ricardo was a constant source of guidance and encouragement, instilling in his children the values of kindness, resilience, and hard work.

Having emigrated from Cuba at the age of 29, Antero embarked on a new chapter in his life in New York City. There, he carved out a successful career as a college professor, dedicating 27 years to imparting knowledge and shaping the minds of countless students. Ricardo’s passion for education was evident in his teaching, as he inspired his students to reach for their full potential.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ricardo found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan, finding solace and excitement in cheering for his favorite teams. Additionally, Ricardo had a profound love for old Cuban music, which filled his home with vibrant melodies and nostalgia.

Ricardo’s competitive spirit shone through in his victories in several domino tournaments, earning him numerous trophies as a testament to his skill and strategic thinking. However, his true success in life lay in the relationships he built and the positive impact he had on the lives of those around him.

We laughed so much together and I felt truly understood by him. We had a special connection. I am happy he is with his beautiful wife whom he so adored.
