Ruth F. Bender

Born August 11, 1912, Ruth was a native of Brooklyn, New York. In 1937 she married Thomas Bender, who was her beloved spouse for 57 years. In 1950 the family moved to Atlanta. For over 50 years, Ruth was a devoted member of Central Congregational Church, where she served as Trustee and President of the Women's Fellowship. She was a painter and an enthusiastic member of the Atlanta Artists Club, managing the group's gallery in Buckhead for several years. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jaclyn Sinclair, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Remembrances in Ruth's honor may be sent to Central Congregational Church, 2676 Clairmont Rd. NE, Atlanta 30329.
