Betty Ann Bishop

betty bishop

March 25, 1939 ~ April 16, 2021

Born in: Caribou, Maine
Resided in: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Betty A. Bishop, 82, born in 1939 from Caribou, Maine, passed away on April 16, 2021, in Lawrenceville, GA after a courageous battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. Once again with Richard, her husband whom she shared 51 years of earthly marriage. Betty belonged to a large family of 10 brothers and 4 sisters. She spent her life being a loving wife and “Best Mom” to her 3 children. She was blessed to share her love with 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

It would be wrong to say that Betty lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. Just because she is no longer here, doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Richard, Father Samuel and Mother Beatrice. Survivors include her daughters Debra Sabado of NV., Donna Perez (Rudy Perez) of CA., son Richard Bishop of GA, sister Nancy Steady (Pat Steady) and brothers Phillip and Roger Morin of CT., grandchildren Luis Garavito, Blaine Sabado (Angelica Sabado), Sherri Velasco (Adrian Velasco), Brandie Cachola (Michael Cachola), Tiffani Perez (Rudy Diaz), Bronson Sabado (Brianna Sabado), Riley Bishop, and great grandchildren Alec Garavito, Brendan Sabado, Ariana Velasco, Aiden Velasco, Ariez Cachola, Aizen Cachola, Regan Diaz and Tegan Diaz.

In remembrance of her life, the family asks you to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Betty Ann Bishop. She endured this disease, no one else should.

The family would like to express a special “thank you” to Aachele Nursing Services and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and loving care of our Mother.

Please join us for a celebration of Betty’s life on Friday, April 23rd at Wages and Son’s in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Family will receive visitors from 10 am. to 11 a.m. with a Memorial service immediately following.

  1. What an amazing Lady, I had the pleasure of knowing her through her daughter Debbie. So fun and full of life. Hopefully there is a casino in heaven. You will be missed, say hello to my mom you two can meet up and gamble together ❤️

  2. CandleImageIt was a pleasure to have known such a great lady (Betty) May you rest in peace. Until we all meet again! Take care & God bless

  3. CandleImageI have lost a beloved aunt and a friend. I will always cherish the crazy adventures we shared travelling to and from Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina with my mother and sister Pam. The 4 Muskateers. Most of our adventures were filled with fun, laughter, getting lost, and lots of gambling. Safe journey, Aunt Betty. I love you and will miss you.

  4. CandleImageMy grandma was always so loving, kind, and easy going. I will always remember her laugh and the expression she would make when my mom called her, “Betty Ann.” I will forever cherish the wonderful memories we have shared together. I can only imagine how amazing it was as my grandma and grandpa reunited in heaven; I am sure it was beyond beautiful as I have never known two people more in love. Thank you to my grandma for passing on the cleaning gene to me and for all the bagels she made me…whenever I wanted one. I will always love her, miss her, and admire the tremendous strength she showed throughout her life.
