Mrs. Billie Jean Ray, 66, long time resident of Stone Mountain, passed away peacefully on Friday September 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Bridges Ray. She is survived by her four sisters, Cornelia Connor of Stockbridge, Doris Rainwater of Mississippi, Louise Rainwater of Villa Rica and Ruby Morrow of California. She is also survived by her two loving daughters, Pamela Hendrix (David) of Lawrenceville and Angela Parris (Andy) of Lilburn and 4 granddaughters, Brenna, Leila, Ruthie and Megan. She is also survived by a very large extended family. She retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools Transportation. She loved traveling, collecting antiques and being a member of the Red Hat Society. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the many caregivers and friends that have taken care of Billie Jean for the past 3 years. Funeral services will be held Monday September 22 at 11am at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with interment following at Eternal Hills on Hwy 78 in Snellville. Family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 21 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

  14. One of the saddest moments is when you hear of the loss of a friend. Billie and I lived near each other and went to school with each other for many years. I am fortunate to have counted her among my friends.

Then later it was my pleasure to know her when she attended our GCREA meetings after her retirement from the Gwinnett County Public Schools Dept. of Transportation.   17. My Aunt Billie Jean has been a God Send of Spiritual Support regarding Our Ray Family Reunion. Billie always spoke words of encouragement. She was Happy that the Ray Family started to hold an Annual Reunion. On Saturday September 20, The Reunion was started as scheduled.
