Resided in: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Birthland “Birt” Alrick Anglin was born March 7, 1958, to his beloved parents Aston and Muriel Anglin, in the sunshine of St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica. In 1972, the family moved to the United States and settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where Birt attended Dillard High School. After graduating high school, Birt attended North Carolina Wesleyan College on a soccer scholarship. He graduated in 1982 on the dean’s list with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and minor in Hotel & Food Services.

After graduating college Birt worked for several years as a manager for various retail businesses. It was while working as a store manager in Fort Lauderdale, he noticed a pretty young lady, named Julia Jules, who frequently walked through the store to get to her destination. In the summer of 1988, Birt decided to introduced himself to Julia and invited her out to lunch. It was love at first sight! ???? On November 11, 1989, Birt and Julia were married.

Birt and Julia became members of the South Florida Church of Christ in West Palm Beach, Florida. In September 1990 Birt dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized as a disciple of our Lord Jesus. Birt was very active in his church while in Florida and when he and Julia moved to Georgia. He was deeply involved in the lives of his church family and had a great impact on many people.

Birt enjoyed traveling with his wife and loved spending time with his family and siblings. He enjoyed enhancing his knowledge through reading, playing racket ball and soccer. He loved watching sports, gardening, cooking (and eating) wonderful Jamaican food. Birt’s greatest enjoyment was being a dad and raising his two sons, Debon (Dee) and Jonathan. Birt guided his sons through their adult lives; and he continues to teach them every day.

Birt is survived by his wife Julia, his sons Debon and Jonathan, his daughter-in-law Valisa; his brothers and sisters, Lonnie and Margaret Anglin, Dennis and Mitzie Anglin, Bruce and Carol Anglin, Randy Anglin, Coreen Stone-Anglin and Ed Stone, Marva and Mark Thomas, and Claudette and Roy Evans. Birt is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

Birthland Alrick Anglin, 63 years, old left us on January 31, 2022, with his family by his side. He now joins his beautiful family in Paradise, his parents Aston and Muriel and his sister Joan.

He is forever loved and will be deeply missed.
