Bobby Lee Tidwell

Bobby Lee Tidwell (Papa) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, age 92, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. Bobby was born in Newnan, Georgia in 1930. He married the love of his life, Ann (Ayers) Tidwell on February 24, 1951. In 1953 he served in the Army during the Korean War as a Medic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He was a father of five. While his children were growing up, Bobby worked as a Manager of several of the largest grocery store chains in the Atlanta area that included A&P, Big Apple, and Colonial. He was a loving father, husband, and Papa. Bobby loved to laugh and be with family and friends. He was quizzically smart and always had a unique way of fixing things. He loved gardening and working outside. He was devoted to his church and enjoyed worshiping the Lord and talking about his walk with Jesus. He was deeply loved and will dearly be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Tidwell; mother, Pearl Wilson Cruse; father, Henry Tidwell; twin brother, Billy Tidwell; sister, Dorothy Robinson; and brother, Pete Tidwell. Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Teresa Tidwell, Philip Tidwell (Rachel), Nancy Woods (Dale) and Lisa Kemmer (Powel), his grandchildren, Anna, Ashlee, Ryan, Elysa, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Wesley, and 13 great grandchildren.

Bobby and Ann loved each other deeply and were together 72 years. Their celebration of life on the anniversary of their marriage on February 24 is a true love story. The last few years they were side by side until they passed into glory two days apart. They enjoyed their friends and family and always helped anyone in need. They will be missed by all.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Bobby & Ann Tidwell will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Visitation 12-2 pm. Service at 2 pm.
