Resided in: Loganville, GA

Brittany Ellen Lyall, 28, went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 14, 2018. Her passing was unexpected. Brittany was born January 29, 1990, and has been a lifelong resident of Gwinnett County. Brittany was the first “preemie” baby born in the newly founded NICU at Humana Hospital in Snellville (now Eastside Medical Center). Brittany attended Gwinnett County Schools, and completed the Special Needs program at Oakland Center, which later became Oakland Meadows. Brittany enjoyed time with family and friends more than anything else. She was a people person. We met many great people on life’s journey with Brittany. From her medical networks, to school personnel, to her friend and caregiver Danyell, to the multitude of softball families while Abby played ball, and so many others that helped Brittany. To all of you out there, you meant the world to Brittany, and to us as well. Brittany was physically challenged, but with her attitude and personality, she rose beyond those challenges. So many people would recognize Brittany on family outings, and stop to chat with her. She loved going on our family road trips and having all of us in the van with her. The long rides energized her, while everyone cut up and talked about our adventure. Brittany was a blessing to us. She was our blessing bestowed upon us by our almighty God. What might have appeared to be challenge when viewed by others was instead our blessing and our privilege. In short, Brittany taught us an uncompromised love. Our hearts are broken, but we are better people because of Brittany. We will miss her. Brittany is survived by her parents, Robert and Cathy Lyall of Loganville, GA and one sister, Abby Lyall, also of Loganville. Maternal grandparents, Lowell and Dorothy Huff of Abingdon, VA, and aunts / uncles, Sondi Jones, Lynn / Reece Moore, Connie / Richard Hull, along with many cousins are also survivors. Brittany was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Robert and Billie Lyall of Clintwood, VA. Public Visitation is at 2:00PM, followed by a Service at 3:00PM, both on Thursday, May 17, located at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Mike Blount and Tim Burt will be officiating the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Wages & Sons Funeral Homes.
