Cathy Ann Miller Gallashaw, 62, of Monroe, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2017. Cathy was born in Lenoir, NC on January 23, 1955. She graduated from Caldwell Community College with her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 1977; Mercer University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2010, and Nova Southeastern University with her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2014. She was recently appointed Manager of Nursing Education for Emory Healthcare. Previously she worked at Gwinnet Medical Center as an Intraoperative Clinician from 2005 to 2016. Cathy was a compassionate, outgoing, witty, and thoughtful person with a beautiful heart and soul. She spent the better part of her life with her husband, Greg. They were always looking forward to walking hand in hand on the beach. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. Cathy will be cherished and missed by the many people the flame of her life touched. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Greg Gallashaw and his son Derron and his family; her sister, Marsha Rezapour; her nieces, Jasmine Rezapour Bishop and Parisa Rezapour Shanks and their families, and nephew James Woodrow Miller III. She is predeceased by her parents, James Woodrow Miller Sr. and Mary Bentley Miller; and her brother James Woodrow Miller Jr. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00 in our Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Curtis Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. In addition to flowers, donations to your choice of charity will be greatly appreciated.
