  1. Chuck,
    Will miss your big smile.
You will be one of the greatest gate keepers in heaven.
    Love,
    Shirley Smith
Leadership – Stone Mountain Park Gates

  2. I got to know Chuck through the posts Kimmy put up on Facebook. Every photo showed the biggest smiles…. it was obvious that this was a man who knew how fun life was, and how special his family was to him. Rest well, sir… your children will carry on your zest for life.

  3. Chuck, you were one of a kind. I worked YOUR gate Thursday night and thought much about you. I know that you are in heaven. I will miss you.

  4. I will miss all of those great parties that we worked on the Henry W. Grady and the water taxi with Chuck. Working with Chuck was some of the best times that I have had. I will miss Chuck a lot.

  5. My Dear Friend (Chuck) Your Memory Will Never Fade

My dear Friend now that you gone you’re no longer here to share, the bond we had together- A bond of love and care.
You gave no one a last farewell, Nor ever said good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you. A million times we will cry. If love alone could have save you, you never would have died. In life we love you dearly, In death we love you still. We miss you so very much, and our tears we cannot hide, Yet, somehow something tells me you are watching over Kim and your gate family. It broke our heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God took you home.

  6. Prayers for your family, Chuck. You were a good friend, always lending an ear and always giving good advice. My dad worked the West Gate for 20 years and it warmed my heart to see you there. A blanket of “Everything is right in the world” would come over me. We will miss you!

  7. Dearest Rankin family~ so many of my fondest childhood memories include Chuck Rankin- his smile, his laugh, his kindness. I was always welcome at his Stone Mountain home, often had food from his table, and he taught the 3rd grade me about sea anemone in his aquarium! I am thinking of you all during this time. I know Kim and Matt were among the many happy people in his life- my hearts are with you. Hugs and warm thoughts always- Paige (Acker) Flynn

  8. Loved driving in the parade with him, talking about the Alabama games, and waving to him as I entered the gates.

    You will be deeply missed

  9. Prayers are with Chuck’s family . He was a great friend and I treasured the time we work together at Johnson Lane and Sterne Agee . Always remember his smile and wonderful laugh . Rest In Peace my friend
