Donald Davis, Jr.

Donald Robert "Bob" Davis Jr., 80, of Grayson, GA formally of Texarkana, AR, died at home Sunday, August 21, 2011 from a lengthy illness. Born in Mason City, Iowa, he was the son of Donald R. Davis and Marian Alyce Jones Davis. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years before retiring in 1968. He then was employed by The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia where he retired after 17 years of service. Those left to cherish Bob's memory are his wife Nita Davis, daughter, Dawn Davis, son, Robert Davis and wife Doris, four sisters, Betty Smith and Carol Wallace of Indianola, Iowa, Sharon Sharpe of Des Moines, Iowa and Lois Brown of Rockwell, Iowa, granddaughter, Erin Nuttall, grandsons Brendan Nuttall and Benjamin Davis, step-grandchildren Stephanie House and Chris Lee, four step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Marilyn Brood and two brothers, Richard and Leslie Davis. Bob was a strong presence in the lives of all who were honored to know him. His memory will live on through those who loved him the most, his family. A memorial will be held August 27th at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy. from 11am - 1pm.
