Dawn Dianne Luntsford, 82, of Grayson, GA, passed away on September 11, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life.
Dawn was born in Wenatchee, Washington to Don Lindley and Penelope Mabel Jones. In 1959, Dawn graduated from Redwood High School in Corte Madera, San Francisco. After graduation, Dawn obtained a dental technician degree, started her dental career first in Spokane, then Seattle and finally settled down roots in Atlanta in 1974, where she entered the insurance business and became a senior insurance adjuster.
In 2007, Dawn retired to spend her time with her husband, Bruce, and travel across country in their motor home, as well as spending time with her kids and grandkids. In recent years, Dawn enjoyed her family, working in the garden, reading, and collecting recipes, which was her passion. Dawn loved her family deeply and she will be missed dearly.
Dawn was pre-deceased in death by her husband Bruce, parents, sister Holly Hall, and grandson, Jason Paul Blouin. She is survived by her sister Garry Diamond of Los Angeles, CA, sister Judi Prout (Dick) of Edmonds, WA, and 4 children: Rusan (Sudti) Green, Wanda (Bryan) Smith, Kara (Bob) Portnell, Michael Luntsford, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff and health care team at Dogwood Forest of Grayson and Emory Hospital for the wonderful care and love they showed to Dawn.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, 3pm, at Gwinnett Memorial Park, 925 US Highway 29, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 and officiated by our dear long time friend and Pastor, Tommy Green.
The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause Dawn felt strongly about to help children and families.
PSALM 23: 1-6 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I did not know Dawn until fairly recently. But I loved her immediately. She seemed never to meet a stranger and had a grace that immediately put you at ease. I miss her and Bruce. But it gladdens my heart to know that they are together, and she did not have to miss him for long. Dawn and Bruce both meant so much to our community. They are greatly missed. My heart goes out to the family for their tremendous loss. I am so sorry.

I am truly sorry to hear of Dawn’s passing. We became friends after she was my workman’s comp adjuster several years ago. Dawn was such a special woman and I was blessed to have her as a friend. Dawn will be sorely missed. I’ll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
