Derrick was one of those unique individuals that had a gift for engaging anyone in conversation and always presenting some aspect with humor. He would tell you like he saw it and that was always refreshing along with there never being any dull moments around him. I always thought he missed his calling as he should have been a stand-up comedian in the media; it would have been fitting..
I along with everyone in the department where he worked was saddened. Suffice to say he will be missed.
He is one of those unforgettable people whose memory will always remain with you; a bright spot in this world.
