Dacula, GA
Helene Dibblee, age 89, of Dacula, GA, formerly of Buffalo, New York passed away at Peachtree Christian Hospice February 9, 2012 after a long illness. We are especially thankful for the superior medical care provided by Dr. Alice Smith and staff; Dr. Anthony Landis, Dr. Samuel Deutsch, Dr. David Schmidt. She attended State Teachers College with a specialty in business. She retired after a 36 year career with Gerber Baby Products Company. Helene was a long time resident of Decatur, GA. She had a flair for music and was an amateur singer. Another passion she fervently supported was that of animals and her fellow man. Her personal belief was: "We are More Blessed to Give Than to Receive" and she lived by that truism in thought, word and deed.
Helene is survived by her loving daughter, Elaine and son-in-law, Bob; grandchildren, David and Melissa, Nancy and Michael in Florida. She is blessed with 6 beautiful great grandchildren, all of whom will cherish fond memories of visits to Disney World, Titusville, Florida and many gatherings and events! In addition, she leaves a nephew, Jimmy, and two nieces, Janice and Jennifer of Buffalo, New York.
She will be dearly missed by many close, life-long friends in Atlanta, Buffalo, New York and across the country. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with interment immediately following at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens, 87 Scenic Hwy, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Helene may be made to Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge, P.O. Box 4968, Tyler, TX 75712 or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 PM at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550. My prayers are with Helene’s Family and friends. Helene was a Beautiful person and at Heart. Her Sweet and Beautiful Smile will really be missed. Love to you always, Martha
We have many fond memories of Helene. On many visits she would enjoy a nice Bloody Mary while perusing through the US Magazine.
We will miss her and especially her positive attitude in all respects. We know she is in God’s hands.
Love,
Elaine and Bob, Diane and I are truly sorry to hear the news of the passing of Helene. She was so delightful to be around and “lit up the room”. We feel so blessed to be part of the wonderful Christmas Party this past December. Elaine’s poem touched all of our hearts. Her words about Helene were special. We are truly greatful to have had the opportunity to meet her. She will be missed by all, but no doubt is in a better place. God Bess all of you!
Helene lifted up everyone she came into contact with…..strangers, friends or family – it didn’t matter to Helene. Now Helene, it is your turn to be lifted up. “I shall lift up my eyes to the hills from whence commeth my help. My help commeth from the Lord which made heaven and earth.” Helene is surely in the loving arms of the Lord looking down and smiling upon us still……..
Rest in peace dear sweet Helene.
Love and hugs always,

Dear Elaine & Bob,
Mourn not just for the loss of what was but also for what will never be. And then glently , lovingly let go. We pray for and with you Elaine, remember the Love between you and your mother is a spiritual bond that death cannot sever.
Knowing Helene for nearly 25 years, I can truly say that my relationship with her was one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. The love and kindness she shared with my family and myself will never be forgotten. Helene was a special person touching my life; she always made me feel loved and by her actions and words, demonstrated to me that you can achieve the extraordinary in life.
Helene will be missed and loved forever; may she rest in peace.
Elaine,Bob,and family, Mary and I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. Helene was a special lady and we were so privileged to have known her. The coming days and weeks will be hard for the two of you and your family and though the sting of your loss will slowly fade, your fondest memories with Helene will forever comfort you. We know she is in a better place now. We love you and pray if we can help in any way that you will let us know.
Love Ricky and Mary.
My step-mother met Helene after she and her husband split up and while Helene fervently worked to support herself and her child. She was a smart woman, a hard worker and ahead of her time. I never heard her really holler, even when she was unhappy with a situation. She never gossiped or interfered in others’ personal business. I remember that Helene was always impeccably dressed, every hair in place and wore very high heels, even into her elderly years. When Helene entered a room, it was like seeing Loretta Young enter….it was with a flourish and a smile, and everyone noticed. She was close friends with my parents, now long gone. I was very sad when they moved to FL and GA. Helene passed her “zest for life” on to her daughter, who also lights up rooms when she walks in! My heart aches for Elaine & Bob and all our great loss.
Our hearts are saddened to hear of the passing of “our Ms. Dibblee”. But our spirits soar at having been blessed enough to know such a WONDERFUL woman. Her smile and her hugs will stay with us always.
Our thoughts and prayers and a big hug for you, Elaine, from your mother’s “575 girls”. Much love…
Elaine & Bob, We didn’t know Helene for long, but feel truly blessed to have gotten to know and spend time with her. She was a sweet women and knew how to make you feel at home. We loved her and will miss her. We know she is in a better place and no longer in pain. We know the we will all meet again one day and look forward to seeing her once again.
Our hearts go out to you at this very hard time. Just remember that we are here for you for whatever you need, a shoulder, an ear, anything.
Rest in peace sweet Helene.
Love you both.
Elaine and Bob,
No words can express how truly sorry we are of Helene’s passing. Although she had been in ill health for several years, she didn’t complain; just took one day at a time and lived each day to the fullest. Helene was a special lady who enjoyed life and her friends. Her suffering is over now and she is in a better place.
We have many fond memories of our birthday dinners and other celebrations that we have shared over the years. We will always remember Helene’s cheerful personality, the hugs and her big smile when she greeted us. We will miss her dearly.
We love you and will keep you in our prayers.
