Don Carlos Shanks aka Busta, 78, husband of Yvonne Stokes Shanks, died Friday, April 11, 2014. Don was born in St. Louis, Missouri. and resided in London, England prior to living in Georgia, where he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He currently served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Water's Edge Home Owner's Association in Stone Mountain. He leaves behind, in addition to his wife, a host of cherished family and friends. The funeral will be held April 23rd at Wage & Sons Funeral Home; viewing 11:00-1:00, service immediately following.

My very deepest sympathy to Mrs. Shanks and family – my thoughts and prayers are with you. Don, Yvonne, Dana, Leslie, PC, Nicole and Eric have always welcomed my daughter and I into their family ever since I moved to Georgia and we have enjoyed countless gatherings with them – Don has always been very kind to us – I will miss Don and I have the hope that I will see him again and pain and suffering will be a thing of the past!
We so sorry to say, what words can not say, of how much we will miss Mr.Don, We call him Dad, ever sent me and my Debra move to Atlanta Ga, in 1996, we had no other family here but my nephew Pc and Leslie and family here and Mom and Dad,Welcome us in as their own, and we always spent CHRISTMAS together , and he always made sure i got some of mom dressend,and as much as i wanted. May God be with the family and give understand to God doing, and keep the love Strong. You will be Miss. From Spencer & Debra Gibson, Acworth Ga.
Our sincerest condolences to Yvonne, Donna, Dana, and Leslie; be comforted. Busta was such a special presence, never to be forgotten, forever living in our memories. I hope to soon meet PC, Nicole, and Eric. Until then, may The Holy Spirit comfort you all. Amen
