It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Edward Schofield, Sr., a devoted family man, successful business owner, and passionate outdoorsman. Donald peacefully departed this world on December 28, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 27, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Donald was a proud graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School and went on to establish himself as a respected entrepreneur. In 1969, he founded IPS Printing Specialists, Inc., a business that thrived under his dedicated leadership until his well-earned retirement in 2003. His commitment to excellence and hard work earned him numerous sales awards with Gestetner Office Products.

Outside of the business realm, Donald’s life was rich with diverse passions. He was a founding member of Berkmar United Methodist Church, where his faith played a central role in his life. An avid angler, he was a proud member of the Lanier Bassmasters, showcasing his competitive spirit in national fishing tournaments and earning recognition for his skills on the water. Donald found joy in restoring vintage cars, a hobby that spoke to his appreciation for craftsmanship and attention to detail. He brought laughter to those around him and was known for his quick wit.

Donald’s family meant the world to him, and he cherished spending time with his wife, Roberta Schofield, his daughter Tracy Senker (Justin), his son Don Schofield, Jr. (Laura), and his beloved grandchildren: Donald Edward Schofield III, Anna Kate Schofield, Bob Schofield, Jonathan Senker, James Senker, and Josh Senker.

He instilled the values of hard work and family in his children, teaching them to take pride in doing things right. Donald was a faithful and forgiving friend, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on January 3, 2024, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046, followed by a reception. A private interment will take place at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
