  1. Please accept our condolences on Donn’s passing. He was a great friend and true professional and we will be poorer for his passing. I have attached a sentiment which I hope will bring comfort and solace.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I am following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard his call
I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
    A friendship showed, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss

Be not burdened with time of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now he set me free

  2. Donn taught me how to inspect treated wood, He has also been an inspiration in his integrity, work ethic, his love forour industry and as a fierce defender of quality in treated wood. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

  3. Rennie: I was so sorry to hear about your loss. Donn was a first class person and I always enjoyed his visits to the west coast. He was gracious enough to allow me to follow him on some inspections (even allowing me to plug the inspection holes) and he taught me so much about quality control, but more importantly about how to deal with people to get them to care. Donn was the conscience of the industry and his absence is already missed.

We will keep you and Donn in our thoughts. Jeff

  4. Donn was one of the first people I met in the treated wood industry back in 1973. He was kind enough to teach me how to read and work within the standards of the industry, and how to do evaluate the treatment of wood. He was a tireless champion for quality. Always honest and to the point. A good man. He will be missed.

  5. I am truly sadden to learn of Donn’s passing. He was a fighter and was truly blessed for his courage, faith and love for you. His exuberance for life and the values he so passionately expressed will never be forgotten.

  6. A real bow to hear about Donn’s passing. A true gentleman, friend and information source. He will be missed by all he touched.

  7. Rennie: I can not express how much I appreciate all the time, effort and patience Donn provided in teaching me virtually all that I know of QC in wood treating. He was a great man in our field and a true friend. My wife Cindy and I extend our deepest condolences. In my heart I know that virtually everyone in our industry grieves and will miss Donn.
