Born in: Boston, MA
Resided in: Norcross, GA

On January 15, 2023 at 8:15 PM, Dorothy M. Boswell passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 78, surrounded by her children. Dot, as she was affectionately known, was born Dorothy Jean Muise in Boston, MA on June 26,1944 to James Arthur Muise and Grace Rosella Payne. Dot’s siblings included brothers Jim Muise, Richard Muise, Steven Muise, and sisters Elaine Machesney, Margie Anderson, MaryEllen Morse, Carol Muise, and Kathy Kalinowski.

At a very young age, Dot came into a deep and abiding relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was powerfully evident in her tremendous generosity and the love she showed to those she encountered. She was more concerned with the care of others than her own well-being, and would eagerly take a smaller portion so others might have more. Her strong faith sustained her throughout her life, and her children found much comfort in the knowledge that her absence here means presence with the Lord.

Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Ivy L. Boswell, Jr., and is survived by her 3 children, Dorinda Yntema of Lilburn, GA (husband Dan and children Lauren, Luke, Jon, Andrew Legg, and Graham), Lee Boswell of Buford, GA (wife Wendy and children Lee (wife Kassie and daughter Josephine), Kaylyn, Ean, Issac (wife Sydney and children Leah, Ava, and Alexander), TJ, Ty, Mathew, Haven, Keeton, Ava, and Jamie), and daughter DeAnn Warner of Concord, NC (husband Michael and children Christian, Cameron, and Canon).

Dot took great joy in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dot was creative and artistic, with a love of ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. For many years Dot ran a small ceramics studio named Dot’s Ceramics, where she forged many friendships and made beautiful custom ceramics. She also loved knitting and crocheting, and spent quiet hours creating special knitted and crocheted items for loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to RSDSA, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Milford, Connecticut. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDSA) mission is to provide support, education, and hope to all affected by the pain and disability of CRPS/RSD, while driving research to develop better treatments and a cure.
