Eddie Faye Hough, 92, a resident of Arbor Terrace, Roswell, passed away peacefully on March 6 2025. Faye was born in Long Beach California on January 19, 1933. Both of her parents were from Mississippi. Her father was in the military and they lived all over the country (11 states in all). She attended 17 schools before graduating from Davison High School in Davison, Michigan in 1950. Faye attended three colleges and graduated from Old Miss in 1954. Following graduation, Faye served as an officer in the Navy in Charleston, South Carolina.
While at Old Miss, Faye met John (Jack) Hough who was attending law school there. They married in June 1955 and were married for 52 years. They had one daughter, Tracy.
Later, Faye had a career in real estate in Atlanta and Chicago. For many years, she volunteered at the Assistance League of Atlanta Thrift Shop in Chamblee.
Faye had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Her travels took her to China, South Africa, Australia and Europe. In this country, she attended an in-line skating camp in South Carolina where she learned how to ‘fall’. At cowgirl camp she rode a horse named Stetson and she also attended a women’s house-building class in New England where she learned some basics associated with constructing a house. Faye and Jack also loved spending time in Pacific Grove, California where their daughter, Tracy, lived with her husband, Jim.
After Jack’s passing, in October 2007, Faye traveled and visited her friends throughout the US. She thought nothing of driving 12 hours straight to visit friends in Chicago. Her friend in Washington State was just a plane ride away, and her good friends in South Carolina were an easy drive. Her friends were very important to her and she loved getting together with them all.
In 2008, Faye walked the Peachtree Road Race along with several friends from Canterbury Court where she lived at the time. They were even interviewed by WAGA, a local TV station.
Faye was an avid reader and cat lover. She also had an extensive “laughing” Buddha collection, a symbol of happiness, abundance, contentment and wellbeing. There wasn’t a laughing Buddha she didn’t like.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Hough and their daughter, Tracy Dismukes. Donations in her memory can be made to Assistance League of Atlanta, P.O. Box 920250, Peachtree Corners, Ga. 30010-0250. No service is planned.
