Editha (Eddy) Rivera Morgan

editha (eddy) morgan

Editha (Eddy) Rivera Morgan passed on Monday, June 27th.   She was born in the Philippines February 15, 1962.  Her and her Sister, Grace (Beth) Smith of Huntington Beach, CA came to the US in January of 1974 with their mother Maria Estelita Rominquit Rivera, and were adopted by James C. Church of Newark, OH.

She also has a younger brother, James Church of Columbus, OH.   She has two children, Christopher James Church of Stone Mountain, and Christina Beth Holt of Winder, and two grandchildren, Marshall and Caitlynn Holt.  She is married to Steven P. Morgan of Lawrenceville, GA.

Eddy had battled End Stage Renal Disease, Systemic Lupus, heart failure, several heart attacks, and was a cancer survivor.  Everyone who knows Eddy, knows she is as tough as it gets, and fought very hard for a long time.  She is at Peace now, and no longer struggling.

Eddy loved her children, grandchildren and family.  She also loved animals, particularly any pet that was lucky enough to be hers.  She was also an avid gardener.  Plants loved her as much as she loved them.  She was also as generous as anyone could be, never putting herself first.

She will be dearly missed by all. She is no longer in pain, and is with our Lord in Heaven, hugging her German Shepherds Ginger and Dargo, grand puppy Emma,  and smiling down on us all.

The family will receive guests on Saturday July 2nd at 1PM with a service to follow at 2:00PM at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church: 1520 Oak Rd Snellville, GA 30078. Following the service,  a short reception will begin at 3:00PM.
