Elizabeth Alice Longo (Wawrzynski), of Lilburn, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and resilience.
Elizabeth was born on September 14, 1932 in Chicago, IL to parents Adam and Cecelia (Lipinski) Wawrzynski. Elizabeth spent her younger years as a homemaker raising her four children. After moving to Atlanta, she worked at Emory Clinic for many years. Her family will remember Elizabeth as a feisty matriarch with a zest for life, who filled her home with music, sparkle, and the people she loved. She hosted excellent parties, like her annual Christmas kolacky night, and made the best potato salad. She needed no excuse to open a bottle of champagne.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving partner of 21 years, Roy Binder; two sons, Steven (Barbara) Longo, Tom (Debra) Longo; nine grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Longo, Andrew Longo, Valerie (Sam) Bradford, Julie (Sam) Whitehead, Travis (Asha) Longo, Jordan Longo, Austin (Noelle) Longo, Megan Longo, and Lauren Longo; nine great-grandchildren, sisters Ceil and Darlene, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sam Longo, two children, James Longo and Gina Loy, and brothers, Leonard, Raymond, Adam, and Robert.
Elizabeth’s family and friends will celebrate her life with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July, 3 2023 at Gwinnett Memorial Park, 925 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

Absolutely heartbreaking, my prayers go out to all who love and miss her. An amazing lady is a perfect way to describe Elizabeth. I am blessed and so thankful to have known her.
