On Friday August 21, 2020 Elizabeth Joan (Reeves) Kalle passed away peacefully after a long struggle with multiple health issues. Joan was born June 4, 1934 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her father Albert Reeves and her mother Myra Davis Reeves. She grew up in the Decatur andTucker area and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1952.

Joan is survived by her husband of 43 years Donald R. Kalle. She is also survived by her sister Betty Hughes and her husband Bobby. In addition, she is survived by her children including daughter Brenda Karst, son Alan Barker and wife Linda, and daughter Kim Holbrook and her husband Robert Holbrook. She also is survived by stepdaughter Linda Kalle and stepson Donald Kalle Jr. She had 11 grandchildren including Jessica Way, Dustin Karst, Megan DeLee, Jared Barker, Robin Holbrook, Rebecca Holbrook, Katie Holbrook, Brooke Kalle, Cory Kalle, Lindsey Kalle and Mark Kalle. And she had four great-grandchildren including Madison Beasley, Blaine Beasley, Easton Way, Eric Barker and Emma Kalle. She also had many loving nieces and nephews.

Joan ran a happy home for her entire life and was a lifetime member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School there for 30+ years. She enjoyed travelling and especially going to Daytona Beach, Florida for family vacations. But her greatest enjoyment in life was her family. Joan or “Nanny” was always ready to help anyone in her family babysitting, errands, or just a friendly ear. She just naturally made everyone’s day brighter. She had 86 wonderful years, and the world will be a lesser place without her.
