Ewell A. Arnold, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 27th, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Salena Arnold. He is also survived by 5 daughters and their families, Aleshia and Larry Steele, Regina Webb, Angela Joslin, Renee and John Taylor, Arenda and Mike Schultz; 11 grandchildren and their families; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Loggins; and brother, Charles Arnold. Mr. Arnold was a native of Gwinnett county. He was a retired banker and builder and a life time member and Deacon Emeritus of North Metro First Baptist Church, formerly Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at North Metro Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Cox officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Mr. Arnold will lie in state 2 hours prior to the service from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in memory of Ewell Arnold, to the North Metro First Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550.   11. Selena, I know the pain you personally are feeling. I experienced it recently with the home going of my precious partner. But the same God who has been with me will also be with you to comfort your heart through it all. I am sure that he and Gerry have already met in heaven. And like Gerry, he is no longer suffering but has been healed in every way. I believe that the time is very short when God will bring all of His children home.

  12. May the Peace of Christ cover your family with comfort at this difficult time. Ewell was such a strength for his family and a wonderfully kind man to all who knew him. He was always smiling each time I saw him and he always remembered me. I am praying for the entire Arnold family; you have my deepest condolences in the loss of your beloved father and grandfather.

    What wonderful memories we have of the Arnold clan! No one could ever doubt Ewell’s love for his awesome family. We will treasure the times he took us out to eat or shared a trip to Amelia Island. He will be greatly missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
