Frank Harvey Domonousky, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on July 12, 2024.
He was born on June 20, 1961, to Sandra and Franklin Domonousky in Memphis, TN.
Frank attended Chopticon High School in Leonardtown, MD, graduating in 1979. Shortly after, he moved to Georgia to begin a new chapter in his life. He attended DeVry Institute of Technology, earning his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. In 1984, he married his beloved Catherine McGrath, and they welcomed their first son, Frank, in 1986, followed by Brad in 1988.
Frank was a man of immense strength, intelligence, and determination. He possessed the willpower to succeed and thrive in life, with a generous heart full of love and understanding. He believed that faith, family, and wonderful friends are what truly make life worthwhile.
Beyond his roles as son, husband, father, brother, friend, and uncle, the role of grandfather elevated his love, compassion, and commitment to family to new heights. His first grandchild, Drew, who could not pronounce “GP” (short for “grandpa”), called him “BP.” The name stuck, and he was known as “BP” from that point forward. His grandchildren, Drew, Franklin, and Link, were his greatest pride and joy. His new favorite pastime was spending time with them, showering them with gifts, love, and surprises. He was one of their favorite people, and they always felt how much “BP” cherished them. To his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, he was known with affection as “Uncle Frank.”
Frank was a natural entrepreneur from a young age, working side jobs to fund his college education and turning them into small businesses. He went on to establish numerous companies from the ground up and was fearless in the executive world. What set him apart from many other successful businessmen was his focus on building a legacy, which he proudly passed on to his sons, Brad and Frank. His motivation was always rooted in the betterment and enjoyment of his family.
Frank always loved the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, boating, and scuba diving. His love for scuba diving began in Cozumel, Mexico, and grew to include Orange Beach, AL, where he enjoyed a family home with relatives and friends. Frank loved cruising Lake Hartwell in Hartwell, GA, on his boat and was famous for towing his sons and friends on tubes at dangerous speeds. Lake Hartwell quickly became a gathering spot for family and friends, and that tradition continues today. He loved spending time at the family farm in Elberton, GA, working on projects and tending to the garden and fields. He cherished sharing these hobbies and activities with his family and passed on all his knowledge and love about them.
He was a passionate University of Georgia football fan who enjoyed watching games with his family. He cherished traveling with his wife and close friends, exploring new places and savoring delicious meals and wine together. He had a passion for coaching, guiding his sons in football from a young age and positively impacting many other kids’ lives through his coaching. Even today, many of the kids he coached over the years still call him “Coach Frank.”
Frank had a big, generous, and kind heart. Words can hardly capture his generosity; he always supported the underdog and did everything he could to help those around him. He found great joy in seeing his family and friends enjoying time together and having fun.
In his own words during a family prayer, he said, “Lord, I want to thank you for your son first of all, and for my family and friends. Family and friends are more important than anything… in Jesus’ name… Amen.”
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Clary Bean of Leonardtown, MD; father, Franklin Lee Domonousky of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Patty Shanahan of Leonardtown, MD; uncle, Jim Domonousky; uncle, Mike Domonousky; uncle, Steve Domonousky; brother-in-law, Ronald McGrath; nephew, William Combs Jr.

grew a great working relationship with Frank and grew to know his family and he will be greatly missed. Frank had a big heart and always looked out for other.
rest in peace Frank and may God bless you and your Family.
Frankie worked for me as a Mason Tender. He was one of the hardest working kids that ever worked for me. Always friendly, always spot on with everything he did. He said he was saving everything he got paid for his college education. He even wore boots with big holes in them instead of spending the money on something other than his future. I will say that Frankie was one individual I always admired for his drive and work ethic. Very sorry to hear of his passing. I’m certain he will be missed by everyone who his life has touched. God Bless you Frankie. We will meet again.
Frank was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Atlanta. first day at DeVry, he wore the most recent RUSH concert tshirt &, since my last concert was Rush, I knew we would become friends.
Turns out, it was the same concert where Frank got his t-shirt. Capital Centre, only a few weeks before.
many good times with Frank, including seeing Ozzy Osbourne (with Randy Rhoads) at the Fabulous Fox Theater.
Frank was a great guy, fun to be around & the ultimate Farmer Jack’s assailant.
RIP, old friend.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Please pass my love and condolences on to “little Frank” and Brad. Both were my students and friends. Much love
I’m so sorry for the families loss. I worked with Frank for over 20+ years as a supplier. He was always a pleasure to work with. Frank you will be missed!! RIP 🙏🏼
You will be truly missed! You and the IDC team taught me most everything I know about the restoration industry. Working for IDC was a true pleasure.
We hope you can find comfort knowing that you’ll always have the memories you shared. The impact Frank made on everyone was incredible. He was able to touched so many lives.
Frank’s generosity was unmatched. He (and Cath) were incredible hosts to us including work trips to Mexico at least three if not four times (some of the best times of our lives), sharing their home(s) with us, their lives, and truly making us feel like we were family. I haven’t worked for Frank in a little over 10 years, but have stayed connected and was able to see him the day before he passed to make sure he knew how much I appreciated all he had done for us and how much we loved and cared about him and his family. I was blessed to work for him at two companies he started up. He was successful at everything he did. He was hilarious and there was never a dull moment when he was around. I loved how he always made me feel valued and would empathize with me when work was overwhelming talking me off the ledge many times. His impact on my life is hard to explain. I find comfort knowing that he knew the Lord and was not ashamed to pray during company events, or to talk about Him, and I am certain we will see each other again. I told him I know he will have a crown of generosity waiting for him, and I truly believe that. Generous with everything he had. I treasure the days I worked for him and Cath and have been blessed beyond measure to have known them. He is a huge loss, but he lived a full life in the time he was given and fought the good fight. I know he was tired and ready to go when he was called home. Well done, Frank. We will always be here for Cathy Mcgrath Domonousky, as I know so many others will be, to support her in any way she needs. So much love to the Domonousky family. You are all in our prayers.
Chris and I met Frank and Cathy several years ago during Mobile Mardi Gras. We had the best time.
Our guest bath toilet decided to spring a leak and who better to have on hand than Frank and Jim Curry. Instead of being embarrassed and distressed, they took the reins and fixed the issue. Although we were new friends, it was like family came to the rescue.
Frank was awesome and had an obvious deep love for Cathy.
Our hearts go out to this family. Sending prayers. This great man will be missed.
You will be missed by many Frank. We have worked together for many years in the restoration industry and always appreciated your honesty and respect we had for each other. Fly high brother and may you RIP.
Im sorry for your loss , my prayers go out to the family.
