Leo Henry Garbarino, age 66 known as POP POP by his grandchildren passed away in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was born January 21, 1947 in Ford City, Penn. and has lived in Atlanta since 1966, a long time resident of Gwinnett County, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Ellie, of Lawrenceville; his daughter Laura and two grandsons, Jeremiah Campbell 9 and Leonardo Campbell 6 of Snellville, brother Robert Garbarino Janice of Marietta and Molly Arons Pete of Athens and several nieces and nephews. He retired from Lucent Technologies in November of 2001 having worked there since 1966. Always ready with a joke and a hearty laugh, he loved life and family and was very compassionate toward others. Golfing was his favorite pastime and that is exactly what he was enjoying with his golfing buddies in Orlando. A memorial service will be held with visitation beginning at 1:30 on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Wages & Sons located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Leo to Children's Health Care of Atlanta, 1405 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30322-1062.
