Gary Dan “Danny” Hayes of Lawrenceville GA passed away peacefully Saturday evening in the loving presence of family and friends. Danny was a graduate of Central Gwinnett High and worked as a commercial truck and wrecker driver. Danny was known for his friendly demeanor and love for the special needs community, including serving as the Gwinnett Special Forces Coordinator for the last 9 years. Danny eagerly volunteered his energy and free time in support of his team members and encouraged them to find the best of themselves through Special Olympics. Danny was also an avid bowler and enjoyed competing on numerous bowling leagues that later expanded to include several special needs leagues that he supported. Danny was preceded in death by grandparents: Eual and Annie Ruth Criswell of Lawrenceville. Otis and Geraldine Hayes of Lawrenceville. Father: Clyde Hayes of Gainesville. Wife: Cheri Hayes of Lawrenceville. Sister: Denise Orr of Lawrenceville. Danny is survived by his three Sons: Michael (Elizabeth) Hayes of Albany, GA and Mark and Mitchell Hayes of Lawrenceville Sister: Dawn (Mark) Cochran of Loganville. Brother: Dewayne Hayes of Dacula. Mother: Sandra Orr of Buford, and Daddy: Gary Orr of Winder. Two beautiful Grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial celebration will be announced via Facebook by his Sister Dawn Cochran at a later date.
