Gary Rohrer, born in 1958 in Smysonia, Kentucky, passed away on May 24, 2024, at the age of 65. He grew up in Evansville, Indiana, and later made Georgia his home in the 1990s. Gary was living in Lawrenceville, GA, at the time of his death.
Gary’s life was a rich tapestry woven with diverse passions and interests. His love for feline companions knew no bounds, and he found solace in their presence. His collection of books on history, politics, and the arts reflected his insatiable curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
Beyond the pages of books, Gary reveled in the world of sports. Basketball and baseball games held a special place in his heart, and he followed them with unwavering enthusiasm. His evenings were often filled with laughter as he immersed himself in British comedy and drama shows.
Music was his refuge—a blend of classical melodies and timeless rock tunes. Gary appreciated the finer things in life: the aroma of a good cigar, the craftsmanship of elegant watches, and the feel of well-tailored clothing against his skin.
But it was Gary’s character that truly set him apart. Kind-hearted, intelligent, and quick-witted, he touched the lives of those around him. His generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on family, friends, and colleagues.
For over two decades, Gary contributed his expertise to National Vision’s IT Department. His dedication and camaraderie endeared him to coworkers, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Gary is survived by his brother, Glen Rohrer, sister-in-law Nina Rohrer, nephew Jonathan Rohrer, and niece Tiffany Rohrer of Cumming, Georgia.
