With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeri Wagner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on September 17, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on March 17, 1945, Jeri was a devoted Catholic whose faith was central to her life. She was actively involved in her parish community, serving as a religious education teacher and a dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, most recently with the Commerce chapter.
Professionally, Jeri began her career as a cosmetologist, working alongside her brother at his salon in Niagara Falls. After moving to Georgia with her family and her husband, Carl, she continued her passion for haircare by running their own salon in Lilburn, GA, for several years. Later, she became a licensed in-home childcare provider, caring not only for the children of others but also for her eldest grandson, Zachary, who was always close to her heart.
Jeri’s talents extended far beyond her professional life. She was an exceptional baker, seamstress, and gardener, and she found great joy in cooking, particularly her famous Italian dishes. She was known for always bringing meals and baked goods to gatherings, holidays, and for those in need. Her generous spirit touched the lives of many.
Her greatest pride and joy, however, were her three grandchildren, whom she adored. She showered them with love and made each one feel special in their own unique way. Family was her world, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
Jeri was married to her high school sweetheart, Carl Wagner, for 57 wonderful years, sharing over 60 years together. Their love story began at a high school football game in Niagara Falls, where despite attending different schools, they found each other and built a lifetime of love and memories.
Jeri is survived by her devoted husband, Carl J. Wagner; her daughter, Natalie Wagner Norman, and son-in-law, Mike; her son, CJ Wagner, and daughter-in-law, Jess; and her cherished grandchildren, Zachary Norman, Logan Wagner, and Reese Olivia Wagner. She is also remembered by many dear friends and extended family members.
Though we will miss her dearly, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her parents, likely enjoying the voice of Elvis Presley, one of her favorite artists.
A private service will be held at a later date.
So sorry to hear about Hero’s passing. Enjoyed playing cards with her and attending senior events at church. She will definitely be missed by many.
