Glen Campanelli passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 27th, 2025, due to complications from anesthesia. He was the life of the party-a man whose love for travel, food, friends, animals, nature, and Lake Lanier was matched only by his deep love for his daughter, Elizabeth, his grandchildren, and his devoted wife, Camille.
Born and raised in Lumberton, North Carolina, Glen grew up with a curious mind and a boundless energy that stayed with him throughout his life. He attended Pemberton College and later graduated from Georgia State University, where he cultivated his passion for learning and leadership. Glen’s professional journey was as dynamic as his personality. He was a dedicated teacher and an inspiring principal before spending the last 40 years as an ambitious business owner. He was a member of the Optimist Club and started The Men’s Cooking Club many years ago. But beyond all his titles and achievements, Glen was, above all, a friend to his family, his community, and anyone lucky enough to cross his path.
Glen could weave a story like no one else, his words often as colorful as his spirit. He had a gift for lighting up a room, making everyone feel at home with his quick wit, warm smile, and larger-than-life presence. His hugs were legendary, leaving you feeling cherished and special. His laughter, a deep, contagious sound, will echo in the hearts of those who knew him, a reminder of the joy he carried and freely shared.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Camille Campanelli; his beloved daughter, Elizabeth Schwartz, and her husband, Joshua Schwartz; and his treasured grandchildren, Noah and Clara Schwartz of Vermont. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Campanelli of Lumberton, North Carolina; his brother, Roger Campanelli, and Roger’s wife, Terry Campanelli, of Trion, Georgia; nephew, Chuck Campanelli, and his niece, Maryann Miller (Jon).
Glen is deeply loved and will be missed by everyone who had the joy of knowing him.
