Gloria Jean Capogrossi passed away on Friday December 10, 2021. She was born on January 27, 1944 to Hazel Wood DeAngelis and Elo DeAngelis in Ithaca, NY where she grew up. She spent her childhood with her step father Barney Fuchs and mother, along with her 2 sisters, 1 step sister and 3 step brothers.
She married Albert Capogrossi in April 1965 and they continued to reside in Ithaca NY until 1971 when they moved to Stone Mountain GA.
She was a devoted mother, wife and gram. In her earlier days she loved spending her time reading and she enjoyed painting and being creative.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carole DeLaurentis and grandson’s Kyle Smith and Cameron Crespo.
Gloria is survived by her husband Albert, daughter Gina Smith, granddaughter Megan (Alvin) Smith-Dzihic, great granddaughter Landyn. Sisters Marie DeAngelis, Jean Rainer, brothers Frank Reynard, Bernie Fuchs and Vincent Fuchs. Along with countless other cousins, nieces and nephews.
On behalf of Gloria and the family, we graciously want to thank everyone for their condolences and other acts of kindness during this time of loss and grieving.
She was a loving, giving and creative soul. She will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure to truly know her.
