Manuel Gomez

He was 91 years of age and preceeded in death by his sister, Mercedes Espindola, and his daughter-in-law, Deborah P. Gomez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lois E. Gomez; son, Robert Russell Gomez and wife, Rebecca of Tucson Arizona: son, John Manuel Gomez of Lawrenceville Georgia and his grandchildren, Jane E. Woods and John W. Gomez. Manuel was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up in New York City. He served proudly in World War II, landing on the beach in Normandy and working in an Army Medical Corp as they marched through France, Belgium and into Germany. Manuel received a European Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the American Service Medal. He resided for 45 years with his family in Carle Place, Long Island, New York before moving to Georgia to be closer to son, John and family. A Celebration of Life will be held for Family and Friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Lung Association in Manuel's honor will be appreciated.
