Harbans Kaur

harbans kaur

December 22, 1935 ~ August 10, 2022

Born in: Punjab, India
Resided in: Alpharetta, Georgia

Harbans Kaur peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2022 after battling complications following a stroke.

Born in the state of Punjab, India, she was the daughter of the late Swaran Kaur and Sardar Charan Singh. She moved to the United States in 1995 after making visits since 1987.

She dedicated her time to the upbringing of her 3 grandchildren, the pride of her life.

She was like a third parent in the Hundal family, having cared for her 3 grandchildren virtually since their birth. She loved caring for her family. She enjoyed walking, cooking, and, eventually, spending time with the two dogs of the Hundal household, the late Rocky Hundal and Jibee Hundal.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Tejpal (Massie) Hundal, of Johns Creek, GA; granddaughter Sonia Hundal of New York, NY; grandson Vikram Hundal of Atlanta, GA; grandson Simmy Hundal of Houston, TX; sister, Surinder Kaur, and her family, of Uba City, CA; sister-in-law, Gurdeep Kaur, and nephew, Gurvinder (Mona) Hundal, of Vancouver, BC; niece Harjeet (Jatin) Kumar of New Delhi, India and extended family.

Many thanks to the nurses, doctors and caregivers at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Raj Patil and Dr. Linda Guydon, who treated her for over 25 years.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15th, at Wages and Son’s Funeral Home at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30046 with the following schedule:
2:00PM: Sikh Prayer (in Punjabi)
2:45PM: Eulogies
3:15PM: Cremation

Following the Funeral services, there will be a religious service at 5pm at the Gurdwara, Guru Nanak Mission Society of Atlanta, at 1158 Rockbridge Rd NW, Norcross, GA 30093. Langar (dinner) will be served at the Gurdwara.

In lieu of flowers, we would like to honor her memory by supporting a stronger and healthier South Asian community through donations to the NGO, Raksha (https://bit.ly/3BZQF4R). Alternatively, consider supporting the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (https://alzheimers.emory.edu/about/support/index.html#anchor-make-a-gift).

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the love, caring and kindness that you have shown to us.
