Claude Burnley Harrison formerly of Tucker, Georgia passed away on April 30, 2013 at the age of 91, following a brief illness. Claude was born in Nashville Tennessee, moved to Atlanta as a teenager, and later graduated from Boys High. He entered the Army Air Force during WWII serving as a radio operator on B-29 bombers with the 498th Squadron in the South Pacific. While on the Island of Tinian, he participated in flying missions over Tokyo. After the war he began his career with Southern Bell Telephone Co. where he became an auditor and met his wife Rosemary Perrin Harrison. They were happily married for over 64 years. Claude and Rosemary lived most of their married life in Tucker and were active members of Clarkston Baptist Church where they served together in the church nursery for many years. Claude was a devoted and loving husband, and a wonderful uncle who was dearly loved by his family. He always had a smile and enjoyed making others laugh. Claude's family members include: Rosemary Harrison, Wife. Nieces and Nephews: Jane Perrin Layfield and husband Richard, Josie Perrin Holdaway and husband Kevin, Terrie Tomlin Wilkins and husband John, Chris Perrin preceded in death, Whit Perrin Wright and husband Russ. Great-Nieces and Nephews: Thomas and Nicole Layfield, Weston and Rachel Layfield, Laurie and Scott McLain, Jason and Stephanie Wilkins. Owen Holdaway, Hailey Holdaway, and Nathan Holdaway. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at the Bridge of Lawrenceville for the loving kindness and care they have provided, and also for the wonderful care provided by Brenda Carter, the nurses of Amedysis, and Camellia Hospice. May God bless you for the work that you do. A celebration of Claude's life will be held at the Gwinnett Chapel of Wages and Sons, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 770-277 4550 on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3:30 PM with Pastor Price Walls officiating. Viewing will be prior to the service at 2:30 PM. Internment following the service at Melwood Cemetery, 5170 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Stone Mtn, GA.
