Hector Angel Alvarez, 75, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family following a long battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Gudelia Acosta Alvarez; his son, John Alvarez and his wife Tina along with grandchildren Aliangel, Joshua, Katie, Nathan and Elijah; his daughter Jennifer Alvarez Willits and her husband Greg along with grandchildren Samuel, Walter, Ben, Tommy and Lily; his sister Carmen and her husband Nelson Siso and their children and grandchildren; his sister Luz Colon and her children and grandchildren; and his sister Mary and her husband “Uncle David” Arriagada and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister Gracie's husband Mike and their children and grandchildren; and many, many friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother with a deep Christian faith and will be greatly missed by everyone.
A memorial service will be held on August 18, 2015 at 11:00am at Crosspoint Christian Church, 4550 SR 20 SE, Conyers, GA 30013. Near the intersection of Oglesby Bridge Rd and Ga Hwy 20. A brief reception will follow the memorial service at the church.

Hector will be missed deeply at Crosspoint Christian Church. He was loved by so many.
Hector Alvarez was a wonderful godly man who reflected the values of the Christian faith to his family and friends. On behalf of Christian Family Fellowship, I would like to extend special condolences to Hector’s wife Gudelia and his children John and Jennifer as well as his sister, Ms. Luz Colon. May God be with all of you during your hour of grief. Hector will be greatly missed, but is in a much better place now.

We are so sorry for your loss but we know based on the life he lived his reward is realized. Blessings.
Mr. Alvarez was such a fine man. I remember how upbeat he was, always bright with a smile as he showed respect and kindness to us kids at church. My sincere condolences to the Alvarez family.
