HELEN LORAINE HENRY PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON OCTOBER 20 AT THE AGE OF 101. BORN IN MILAUKlE, OREGON SHE SPENT HER CHILDHOOD IN NORTH DAKOTA. SHE GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE AND WAS A TEACHER FOR SEVEN YEARS. SHE THEN MOVED TO CALIFORNIA AND WORKED FOR WESTERN UNION AND THEN WORKED AS AN OFFICE MANAGER FOR RIO HONDO POTTERY IN EL MONTE. SHE AND HER HUSBAND LEE MOVED TO GEORGIA IN 1962, RESIDED IN CLAYTON COUNTY AND LATER MOVED TO GAINESVILLE. SHE JOINED THE NEWCOMERS IN 1978, THE BOOK CLUB, THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS, THE ALLIANCE FOR ILLITERACY, GAINESVILLE THEATER, AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. ALSO, SHE WAS A VOLUNTEER AT SARDIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR 10 YEARS AND RETIRED AT AGE 90. SHE THEN WORKED AT THE FOOD PANTRY IN GAINESVILLE AND GOOD NEWS. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER DAUGHTER GEORGIA AND HER HUSBAND WAYNE SAVAGE AND THREE GRANDCHILDREN. SHE.WILL BE INTERED IN THE COLUMBARIUM WITH HER HUSBAND LEE HENRY AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY.
