  17. Laurie,
My earliest memories of church include you and Leon. I will always be grateful for the way Leon was instrumental in drawing my dad back into church when I was 7 years old, and the precious friendship you both extended to my parents. that friendship impacted my life in so many ways. I hold on to so many wonderful memories of my childhood that include you and Leon as you loved me as if I was your own child. Your love for family and the legacy you both built for the generations that will follow you is far reaching, and I will never forget the strength and faith you build your family upon. I can’t imagine the depth of loss your family feels and will experience until you see him again. Praise God he is rejoicing in heaven in the presence of his Savior, whom he was never ashamed to proclaim. You will always be loved by our family! Kim Peden Boone

  18. It was my honor and greatest pleasure to be able to care for him. You have a lovely family who I will always remember. Praying for peace and comfort upon your hearts.

  19. Laurie,
I’ll always remember Leon as being such a kind and down to earth man. I’ve always admired his love for God and your family and especially the love and marriage you both shared. If there’s any comfort you could have right now, it would be that one day, you’ll be together again. You are all in my prayers, we love you.

  20. Laurie and family, sending love and prayers to each of you in the earthly loss of your loved one! Truly, at times like this, our Heavenly Father is the Great ” I AM,” in the midst of grief. Precious are the memories of our years of serving the Lord together at NPBC. God Bless you,,,,Your sister-in Christ,
    Marie Spears

  21. Dear Laurie…We are so glad we had time to know Leon, even if it was way too short. Our love and prayers go out to you and your family. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His strong and mighty hand.

  22. Laurie and family,
Although physical distance separates us, I’m holding you close in my thoughts and prayers. My favorite childhood memories have Leon in a starring role. He grew into a loving husband and father. As a dedicated Christian his light was so bright that he drew others to it. He was a good man and will be deeply missed by many.
