Holger Schulz, 68, of Grayson, passed away on October 19 in Grayson. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Thursday, October 24 at Wages & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Friday, October 25 at Gracepointe Nazarene Church with Pastor Ken Dove officiating. Holger was born in Marschkamp, Germany to Herbert & Gretchen Schulz on September 1, 1951.  He married Marleen Helmke on November 16, 1972 in Elmlohe, Germany. He worked for Satorius Group North America for 38 years and retired in 2016. He served two years in the German Navy in radar intelligence. He was a member of the Senior Golfers Association of Atlanta. He attended Atlanta First/Gracepointe Nazarene Church for 35 years and was devotedly involved in many of the ministries including church board, Sunday school teacher, greeter, head usher, 11 mission trips to Belize, Caravan director, etc. He received a Distinguished Service Award from Gracepointe in 2014. Holger is survived by his wife: Marleen Schulz, daughters: Jennifer Schulz & Kevin Wade, Melanie (Schulz) & Jeremy Rockwell, sister: Sigrid (Schulz) & Gert Rosenbaum, Grandchildren: Brianna & Kailey Thornton and Taryn & Zoey Rockwell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Gracepointe Church of the Nazarene Children’s Ministries on behalf of Holger Schulz.

  8. We will miss Holger … he was such a wonderful man who loved God and his family! He was very involved with both church and family. We are thankful for the few years since retirement when he was able to enjoy the sport of golf and the play allowed for a great friendship to develop between him and Bob. Our prayers are with all the family. Treasure the many memories that are a gift from God until you see him again in the eternal home he now enjoys.
