Holly “Fuss” Caryl Lanford

Born in:
Covington, Georgia
Resided in:
Lawrenceville, Georgia
Holly Caryl (Lunsford) Lanford “Fuss”
The only thing “Fuss” loved more than her beloved UGA Dawgs were her Atlanta Braves (when she was a child she named her farm animals after the players and announcers) and the only thing more dear to her than her Braves were animals. We lost her on Sunday, 13th November—one day after her 66th birthday–and the world is worse for it.
Holly was born and grew up in Newton County then moved to Athens to attend UGA. Except for a few years in New Orleans for work she lived in the Atlanta area.
She never met a stranger, no one cried alone in her presence, and she loved and was loved by pretty much everyone with whom she came in contact.
“Fuss” is survived by her husband, Thomas–who is lost without her–and his family; five cats: Melli Lu, Little Miss Rambo, Cinnamon, Smoke, & Snickerdoodle (all rescues); her “tailgate family”; her “Piedmont peeps”; step-father, Aubrey Harvey; and pretty much everyone who ever met her (as she was just that kind of a person). Her Mother, Carolyn “Polly” Harvey passed just a few months ago.
A memorial service is in the planning stages (more information later via her Facebook page) and please send any donations in her memory to: Community Cats Fund – LifeLine Animal Project | Help Save Lives / LifeLine Animal Project, 3180 Presidential Dr., Atlanta, GA 30340.
She was a good soul and will be missed.
I am so sad to hear this news. My thoughts are with Thomas and the family.
Prayers for the family and friends for your loss.
What a sweet beautiful soul…
I knew Holly literally all her life–and her mother Polly knew me all of mine. I am so very sorry and will have precious memories of her until we meet again on the other side. Rest in peace. Go Dawgs.
What a vibrant, tender light. Holly was one of a kind. Blessings and love to Thomas and the cat-house.
We are saddened by this unexpected loss. You and family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Holly was my colleague and my friend for 40 years. She was one of the hardest workers I have ever known; she took great pride in her work. I will miss her very much. My thoughts are with Thomas and her multitude of friends.
The saying good things come in small packages must have met Holly. I am going to miss her so much. Her messages checking on me and letting me know to be happy when it was a “hug a short girl” day. Rest in paradise my Funsize friend until we meet again.

Always smiling, always friendly, always ready to uplift you if you were having a bad day. Worked with Holly for several years.
I’m so very sorry for you and your family’s loss, Thomas. You all remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Such a wonderful soul. It was an honor and a privilege to have known her, as well as all the wonderful people Katie and I have gotten to know because of her. She will be sorely missed.
I’ve long wondered how such a petite lovely Lady could have such a huge heart… a heartfelt sharing by caring and contributing to anyone or any animal in need. She’ll live much longer in the hearts of those she touched than most can hope to do. Thomas, we love you my friend and may Holly’s memory always bring a wink and a smile to your mind, heart and face.
Fuss was one of the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful people we’ve ever known….. she will be sorely missed.
Holly captured our hearts when we first met her over 30 years ago and she will live in our hearts forever. She made everyone happy with her wonderful, loving personality and she quickly became one of our very favorite people. Never again will we eat a pecan pie without thinking of her and appreciating her cooking us a pie every Thanksgiving for SO many years. We send you our deepest sympathy and love, Thomas.
Thomas— my heart is breaking for you. I know how beautifully the FBC loved on me when Jon died unexpectedly and, no doubt, you will feel our love and support in this difficult. I’m here for you.
Such a kind person who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Dear Lanford Family,
My sincere condolences for your loss of Mrs. Holly Lanford. I did not know her personally but from your words she seemed to be a kind, loving woman. And she loved animals. May you find comfort in the God of all comfort (2 Cor 1:3,4) at this understandably difficult time.
