Howard Lewis Webb was born on January 10, 1933 in Tiger, GA to John and Effie Webb. He grew up in the Mountain area of North Georgia and North Carolina. He lived a simple life with his brothers and sisters, he was one of eight; four brothers (Eschol, Mack, Roland, and Johnny) and three sisters (Elnora, Evelyn, and Tori). Howard always had a knack for quick learning and a mind for numbers and engineering. Howard graduated in 1950 and soon began his working career. Howard met his beloved wife, Peggy Ann Goza, while working together and it was love at first sight. They married on September 9, 1952.

Howard served in the Navy from 1952-1955 while being stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He served throughout the Pacific during his years of Active Duty. During this time, Howard and Peggy had their first son, Randy. Shortly after his tenure in the Navy and moving back to the State of Georgia, they had their second son, Stan.

Howard spent his time in Georgia working for Georgia Power and Mark C. Pope Associates. He served his church loyally and was ordained a Deacon at First Baptist of Atlanta in 1986. Howard retired from working but remained active at FBA serving in many roles. He lived his life full of love for family and Jesus. He was a beacon of light and joy for all that he encountered throughout his life. His joy, humor, and godliness were the cornerstone and foundation for his family. As he always stated, “I am truly blessed”.

Howard passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 surrounded by his two sons and two grandsons in Weeki Wachee, FL.

Guestbook

  1. Howard was one of first smiling faces we saw on Sunday morning when entering FBA, a handshake for my husband and hug for me, is how he welcomed us. His love for the LORD shined bright, and while his absence leaves a heart of sorrow, knowing he is with the LORD fills that same heart with joy. Great thanks to our LORD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST for sharing him with us!

  2. CandleImageHoward was such a southern gentleman. So kind and friendly. We live across the street from
Howard and we spent most of our visiting time talking on our driveways. Catching up talking about the day and just friendly chit chat. He was so loved by his family and I admire his sons Stan and Sheri and Randy and Debbie for moving in with Howard and being there for him.
Our family will miss him and wish his family our thoughts and prayers.
