William Bill C. Hubbard of Auburn, Georgia, passed away July 28, 2012 following a cycling accident in Barrow County, Georiga. Born March 4, 1960, Bill moved to the Atlanta area from Concord, Michigan in 1992. He was a winning competitor in track and long distance running during and following school. He was founder and owner of HCW Group, Inc. A multi-talented carpenter, his skills stretched from space area design, furniture construction and installation, and home construction, including his own home. An active member of McKendree United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, GA, Bill was involved in many levels of their outreach ministry, particularly the missions programs both local and international . He considered his most important role to be the husband for twenty years to Debra Marie McDowell Hubbard, and father to Hannah Marie, Grace Michelle, and Jacob Charles Hubbard. Bill is survived by his parents, Bill and Joyce Hubbard of Concord, Michigan; brother Jim Hubbard and his wife Melanie, children Rachel, Leah, Luke and Anna of Concord, Michigan; brother Mark Hubbard, children Sydnee and Noah of Concord, Michigan; brother Steve Hubbard and his wife, Jennifer, children Kaelie, Emma, and Olivia of Jackson, Michigan; and sister Kathy Hubbard Gast and her husband Mitch, children Isabella, and Jackson of Dewitt, Michigan. A service of Celebration and Remembrance of Bill's life will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, GA on August 1, 2012 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in tribute to Bill can be made to McKendree United Methodist Church, Bill Hubbard/Building Improvement Fund or to the Bill Hubbard Memorial Trust, SunTrust Bank.

  7. I only met Bill recently by riding with him in a morning group ride. He was a strong rider and a good guy and I enjoyed his company. My condolances go out to his family.

  9. Will keep the family in our prayers. The Concord family extends out to many places, but we remember those we shared time with growing up.

  10. My sincerest condolences to Debbie and the other Hubbard family members. It was such a shock to learn the news of Bill’s accident. Bill was a really fine fellow with carpentry skills beyond compare. He will be sorely missed by myself and many, many friends and relatives.

  11. I met Bill at CHS through Coach King years ago! He encouraged us all to give every race everything we had, to HAVE FUN, and be a team through sportsmanship, and encouragement. Always quick with words of support, a great laugh, and always enthusiastic about his commitment for us kids! He made the world a better, happier world. God Bless the Hubbard Family. All are in my prayers.

  12. Deb and Family. We are so saddened by Bill’s passing, but rejoice in his homegoing, albeit way too soon for those who knew him and loved him. Please give Jake a big hug from all of us. He is such a fine young man, and a lovely memorial to a great dad.
