Irene Brooks Bohannon, age 85, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. 

She is preceded in death by husband, W.D. Bohannon, Jr. and daughter, Irene Michelle Rogers.  Mrs. Bohannon is survived by her children, Jay Rogers & wife, Tina, of Suwanee, GA; Barbara Bayliff & husband, Buck, of Phoenix, AZ; Becky Cobb & husband, Johnny, of Alpharetta, GA; Bill Bohannon & Joy Wilson of Suwanee, GA; Loretta Guy & husband, Ira, of Athens, GA; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Brooks & wife, Rachael, of Highpoint, NC; Wayne Brooks & wife, Arlene, of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Betty Ferrel & husband, Don, of Little River, NC; Christine Cobb of Graham, NC; Linda Bampton & husband, Cliff, of Pittsboro, NC; Patsy Thomas & husband, Eugene, of Graham, NC.

Mrs. Bohannon was a homemaker and a long-time member of McKendree United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Rev. Julie Boone officiating.  Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. A reception will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church, 1570 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, Lawrenceville, GA  30043,  following the graveside service.  Flowers are accepted or memorials to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 106 Towerview Ct., Cary, NC 27513 or www.jimmyv.org.  The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 pm, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com.

    Her gentle spirit has been with her throughout her illness. Bless you all for being attentive to her needs.
