Janice Andrea Jones Weber, beloved soul mate of J. Rick Weber, passed away on June 24th after a brief illness. Born on December 4, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jan was the cherished daughter of Wilson Frost Jones and Mary Louise Davis Jones. Her father’s service in the U.S. Coast Guard led the family to various postings across Maryland, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Connecticut, resulting in Jan and her siblings attending different schools every four years.
From a young age, Jan developed a passion for ballet, dancing from age four to eighteen. She graduated from Oxon Hill Senior High School in Oxon Hill, MD, and went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska (Hiram Scott College, Scottsbluff, NE) in 1971. Jan dedicated her career to teaching, educating young minds in Forest Heights, MD, Memphis, TN, and Snellville, GA.
A love story that began on a blind date for New Year’s Eve in 1988, Jan and Rick soon became inseparable, spending only one day apart since their meeting. Their shared interests in contract bridge, waterskiing, and golf cemented their bond. Confident in their connection, they were married on April 22, 1989.
Jan played an integral role as the office manager of Rick’s CPA practice, and she was his invaluable assistant on routes to clients’ homes. After tax season, they enjoyed well-deserved vacations and road trips, with Jan particularly cherishing their visits to Sanibel Island and Pompano Beach.
Predeceased by her parents in 2009 and 2017, and her sister Judy Jones Parker in 2023, Jan leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, J. Rick Weber; Catherine Elizabeth Kincaid and grandson Austin Perenich of White, GA; her sister Jeanette Jones Kiem (John) of High Point, NC; her brother John Wilson Jones (Lisa) of Rancho Viejo, TX; her brother Douglas Wayne Jones (Maribel) of Lilburn, GA; nieces Jennifer, Karen, Emma, Tatum, Star, Currie, and Margaret; nephews Daren and Dillon; and several grand-nephews and nieces.
Jan also embraced her role as a mother to her stepsons Troy and Jason, and later as a grandmother to Max, Miles, and Owen. Her loving presence, unwavering support, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

  4. CandleImageYou are at peace. What he did to you was the most evil thing imaginable. He can’t hurt you anymore. I know you did the best you could with what you had. I am okay. Dennis and Daddy have me safe. Finally. Walk with the Lord, Momma. He will guide you through your next life. We are certain of it. Be at peace. Be still and know THAT I AM GOD.
