In Loving Memory of Jean Paris
February 22, 1933 – November 20, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Paris on November 20, 2023, at the age of 90. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her family, neighbors, and friends. She will be remembered fondly for her signature smile and hand wave to all she came across.
Born on February 22, 1933 in Ravenna, Ohio, Jean Amick Paris and her twin sister Joan, were the fourth and fifth of six children born to Warren and Mary Amick. She is pre-deceased by her husband Wayne, to whom she was married for 62 years before his passing in 2017. They moved to Atlanta, GA in 1956 where they settled and raised their five children. Her journey on this earth was marked by her love of cooking and Christmas time, her compassion and generosity, and the way she looked forward to her extended stays on Hilton Head Island, SC.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jean is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Mazzola of Kent, Ohio, brother Ronnie Amick of Cleveland, Ohio, brother-in-law Joe Daniels of Ravenna, her five children – Cindy, Michael, Gino, Anna, and Laura, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her home life, Jean loved the 19 years she worked for Sears. She was also known in the community for her walks with her dogs and workouts at the local YMCA. She was always a welcoming host into her home, with great food and drink awaiting all visitors, especially at Christmas when her home was decorated festively with hundreds of “Santas.”
As we mourn the loss of our mother and grandmother, we also celebrate her new peace with her Heavenly Father. Her laughter and love will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She always wanted the last word with her sweet parting comment, “I Love You More!”
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A memorial and burial service will be held at Honey Creek Woodlands in Conyers, GA on Tuesday, 11/28/2023 at 10 AM.
May Jean Paris rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and serenity she so richly deserves.

  7. CandleImageTo our Dear Friend Jean Paris,
We all have known this beautiful woman for over 60 years . She had a special gift of making everyone feel very loved and appreciated. We would bring her cakes, ChickFilA, flowers 💐 and her favorite candy 🍬 was the Caramel Werthers. She loved meeting my Mom, Carolyn at the Folks Restaurant for their Shrimp lunch. Jean was the best cook 🧑‍🍳 and when Anna had me over she made the best French Toast! Johnny Sharpless was like family. His Mom , Eve were best friends now reunited in Heaven. She was a joy to be around. Johnny kept up their yard on Abby Lane for years and enjoyed taking them to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on many years of Sundays. When it was time to go at her house she would hug your face and bring you close to her face and say,” I love ❤️ you!” So sweet and kind we will never forget you.
