Jeff Cowin, 64, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Hoffman Estates, Illinois as the beloved son of the late William and June Cowin.
Jeff was a devoted husband to his wife, Heather, for 21 wonderful years. He was a loving father to his shared children with Kitty de St. Aubin, Nicole Hatchett, Maureen (Jen) and John Cowin, and Heather’s children, Ashton Walter (Nick), Martin and Patrick Baird (Olivia). Jeff is also survived by his brothers Chris and Doug, sisters Jenny, Caryn, and Allison, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jeff was passionate about his work in the security business where for several decades he took great pleasure providing building and campus security solutions to federal agencies and private companies throughout the southeast U.S. Jeff was equally passionate in his love for music, gifted with an ear and sense of rhythm that gave him an appreciation for a variety of genres and a level of enjoyment only a composer might understand. In his free time, Jeff enjoyed music, sports (go Steelers), working side-by-side with his wife in the kitchen, grilling on his beautiful deck, Halloween decorating for the neighborhood children (which he started in August), and spending time with his family. He was known for his kind heart, keen sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wages & Sons, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia. A celebration of his passionate life and personality will be held during the summer with close friends and family. Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

I knew Jeff well when he was married to Kitty and our children were young. We celebrated many birthdays and outings together. My deepest condolences go out to the entire family.
My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to “swallow up death forever.” He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)
Jeff you will truly be missed. May the work you’ve done speak for you.
Jeff, you are missed and will be remembered and our prayers are with all friends and family. It was a pleasure to get to know and work with Jeff, Chris, and crew over the years. I can’t count the number of times Jeff put my mind at ease and did so with integrity, knowledge, and a great sense of humor! (Jim & Stan)
